XVA and S*uce are happy to announce the launch of their new project “S*uce Gifts at XVA”. Please join the opening party on Saturday 22 March at 4pm.
“into Dubai” brings four renowned composers of contemporary music from Germany, Lithuania and Hungary to Dubai to each compose a musical piece reflecting on Dubai as an international metropolis in the Arabian Gulf. In the musical lecture in Bastakiya on 22 March, Márton Illés and Markus Hechtle will talk about “into Dubai” and the ways in which they foresee to cast an essence of Dubai in music.
They will also present selected previous compositions that count among the most innovative in the contemporary European Music scene. The lecture and following discussion will be held in English.

To celebrate Earth Hour (www.earthhour.org) on 29th March, Dubai Eye 103.8 and Lomography UAE would like to honour our Earth by sharing beautiful snapshots taken by Lomographers from around the world. Sent as 'postcards' with a few words on how special these captured moments are, come and share their Lomo Moment,s, enjoy the beauty and help preserve the beauty in the places that are getting destroyed. The LOMOment on Earth installation will be displayed outside house no. 118 (The Jam Jar).

Painter and Musician Reza Derakshani has been performing worldwide for more than 20 years. The wide range of his musical work includes collaborations with renowned artists such as: John Densmore of the Doors, Madonna, Brandford Marsalis, David Darling, Deepak Chopra and many others as well as performing at the Montreux jazz festival, Central park summer stage in NY, Kennedy Center in WDC, Queen Elizabeth’s hall in London, Brooklyn museum, Juilliard school of music, Museo Maxxi in Rome, Gnawa music festival in Morocco, Metropolitan museum and numerous live shows such as: FIP Radio France, ABC TV, NPR, and BBC of London, to name a few. He currently works between Tehran, Europe and the US. On the occasion of the Creek Art Fair, he will perform on the tar, sehtar, ney and kamancheh.
Derakshani values what comes from the heart. Placing no limits on creativity, he is aware that Iranian traditions and the long and complex history of the region are a vital part of his vision and are what ultimately determines his identity as a contemporary Middle Eastern artist.
